Methods for the assessment of applicants' knowledge/skills
The goal of the knowledge tests is to ensure that all certified experts who are going to render TRIZ-related services should have the same level of knowledge/skills ("Regulations on multi-level certification of users and on certification of experts", International TRIZ Association, par. 2.2).

Knowledge assessment goals: (Appendix 2: Requirements for the assessment of the level of knowledge of applicants for a TRIZ certification):
- to test whether the level of knowledge of the applicants conforms to the existing requirements (TRIZ topics: Key Concepts, LTSE, ARIZ, System of standards, Application of Effects, CID, TRIZ history, TCP).
- to assess applicants' skills: identifying contradictions and the Ideal Final Result, resource searching, ARIZ-based work and its application to real cases.
- to give each applicant a set of examination tasks for all TRIZ topics (normally, one task per topic) one or two days in advance of the Certification Board meeting;
- to assess the conformity of the applicant's knowledge level (based upon what is known about him/her) to MA TRIZ requirements;
- to assess the applicant's examination papers (written answers) pertaining to examination tasks;
- to here each applicant's oral presentation concerning the tasks he/she completed;
- to open a discussion between the applicant and the Board Members with the aim of further testing the his/her skill level;
- to discuss the applicant's performance at the exam, his/her knowledge and skill level;
- to decide upon compliance/non-compliance of the applicant's knowledge/skills with the requirements.
