Welcome to KnASTU

During the past 50 years our University has become one of the largest polytechnic centres of research and higher education in the Far East of Russia, where we offer university degrees, further training and professional re-training within 58 bachelor, MA and professional programs, and also postgraduate studies in 29 and doctoral studies in 5 scientific subjects.
 
Today the abbreviation KASTU stands for 11 departments/schools and three institutes, a campus in Vanino village and our own lyceum for secondary school pupils.
 
Our faculties are led and manned by a brilliant team of distinguished lecturers/professors, engineering professionals, and specialists in culture and sports. 20 of our professors are associate or actual fellows of Russian and international industrial academies, more than 100 of them hold the title of an "Honorary worker of higher vocational education".
 
KnASTU's leadership seek to make the university conform to the highest international educational standards, and the introduction of some basic principles of the Bologna Convention is in the pipeline (we are currently implementing a system of credit points, and diversifying our educational paths); our achievements in mechanical engineering and materials technology have been distinguished as one of the best in the country by the Government of the Russian Federation. Student exchange programs with Chinese, South Korean, Canadian, USA and German universities have been well established and grow every year. Today we hold a quality management system certificate conformant with the GOST R ISO 9001 standard.
 
The University management and administrative personnel feel their public responsibility towards the society, the state and the region where they work, towards our partners and clients, teachers and students; this is responsibility for our efforts and our achievements.

All this gives us grounds to regards today's KnASTU as our city's "talent foundry" and its integral part, its genuine centre of intellect and science whose significance reaches far beyond the boundaries of our region.
